My bro Don Bailey tells me to get two small turbos for the GEN5 project. I have to consider the simplicity of the single.
Opinions????

psi for psi singles are more efficient unless there is a class rule restricting size and the duals offer more flow due to inlet restrictions etc. Sinlge all the way don't buy into the spool up mythology either with twins over singles. they both spool up just fine if properly engineered.

My feeling is that installation space issues probably trumps other concerns. Graham Bell stated in one of his books that the "choppiness" of the exhaust pulses of each bank not blended together improved rotation of the turbines. Whether this offsets the efficiency of the single, I have no idea.

Agreed. This is a daily driver type car so if it has you tearing out the a/c, etc, then it is contrary to your purpose. Whichever allows you to get it in there easiest and best is the one you should use.

Ignore Graham Bell. Idiot he was.

I guess that would include his illegitimate cousin Corky too?;)

Having heard all the BS out of both of these folks I could careles what either has to say. Neither give a very good idea of what is really going on or how to properly engineer it. If you want very good turbo information goto Garret or Holset for engineering information. they actually build and design the damn things and know what is going on. IMO everyone but Garret and Holeset are hacks. Maximum boost is a good book but is very big on the "Vuudoo" instead of the real facts. If you want really killer turbo stuff find some of the old retired Indy Car guys from the 80's. Those folks had figured it out.

Go with twins, it just sounds cooler to say "twin turbo" rather than "turbo".:burnout[1

Since you're doing this for advertising purposes, you get more mileage with twins, and, it's probably an easier install unless you want the turbo hanging under the car (STS).

IMP/EMP being identical between single and twins why would twins get better gas mileage ?
Just a legitimate question.

Advertising mileage. He's trying to generate business and a twin turbo gets a lot more attention than a single even if it doesn't make more power.

Not with me it doesn't. Maybe if you're marketing to people who like shiny things... His business is about doing what is smarter, not slick marketing. So let that be what decides this. I don't know if that will be single or twin, but make the decision based on what makes sense for the package.
