i am looking for a set of semi-budget heads for the new p1 procharger setup that i just bought. i will be getting a custom cam made as well. i will only run around 8lbs of boost. whose heads do you recommend for around $1500 or so?

It doesn't look like you are wanting to make alot of power. Get a good valve job on your current heads and throw some good springs on it. You can make 550rw pretty easy with the stock heads and a cam.

We get that level of power from Radix-equipped 6.0L trucks all the time, using the bone-stock motor and a blower-optimized cam/springs. What are your performance goals? Do you have a certain 1/4-mile time or HP target you are working towards?

317's are a decent casting to start from if you need to lower the compression.
Otherwise the Dart castings with some work are awesome for that duty as well.

I've seen a pretty nasty 6.0 longblock with a big turbo in a LX body make some nasty power. Stock internals.

i actually have 5.3L heads on the car now so the compression is around 10.7:1. i will not be running a meth kit. i don't have any specific times i want to run. i would like to go 10's if i could. my current NA setup has me at 11.8 on a full weight car. i want to use the stock rockers as well. i didn't think a set of worked darts would fit the price range but i don't really know what they cost.

i was hoping i could get a set of decent heads for $1500 or so. i know that isn't anything exotic. i have changed my mind on what kind of setup i am going with 3 times now. however, i already bought the procharger so i am sticking with this setup.

We've done something like that for a guy with 317's already. Good valves to handle the boost/heat, valve job, blending work and all the rest of the prep easily fit's within that budget.

what type of gains do you see with something like that over a stock set of 317 heads? also, who is the one to go to for a custom cam for this as well?

Well I've seen 270-280cfm out of lightly prepped 317's when stock they are down a good 30-40cfm from that.
As for a cam, I've done a ton a blower cams from 1000rwhp street LS strokers to LT cars going 8.0's.
