Anybody playing with these castings?
I just put a set on my 427 and should have some results soon. Just curious if anyone else has run them or had any luck with them?

Talk to JTZ, he has seen set or two. Give me a shout if you would like to talk.

We have installed 3 sets so far for customers. The results have been very good. I'm sure you will be happy with your choice.

Are any of them n20 set-ups?

All are turbo engine's. The head gaskets stay in well and power is great, so I would think they would do well in N20 engine. The material is holding up better than my AFR's or factory stuff. The chambers are not going soft like a factory head.
We have another set that has more time and "tricks" to help it produce power that will run soon.Another turbo deal though......

What gaskets and how much did you tourque the heads too? I used cometics and put them down to 100 foot pounds. Hopefully I won't lift them. Shooting for high 8's on pump gas

Did you get them from Ron's? I know they're the closest AP dealer to us. :)

Ron doesn't play with much LS1 stuff. I think he went with some stuff from Larry Meaux.

That would be correct. Larry Meaux did my port work

Actually talked to Ron last year about a set-up. He definitely builds some wicked stuff. Futral seems to have Larry's stuff working pretty good so I just went that route.

One with copper. The others have factory MLS with ARP studs. We have been using 70ft lbs on the ARP standards. On 1/2 studs we run 100ft lbs.
Thats a tough goal on pump gas. Keep me updated on how you are doing with your project.

The goal might just be that - just a goal:burnout[1 It'll depend on how much I can spray to it and how much weight I can get out of it. I was invited to the Hot Rod pump gas drags last year and had a blast(even though I had some problems). Now I'm on this pump gas kick so we'll see how it goes.
I'll post some results in a couple of weeks

Nice numbers, Larry is a awsome porter.
For those considering these heads please realize that your going to spend some serious cash to get the numbers listed above. 1650 is for a bare set of castings. You can install all the parts and run them out of the box but dont have high expections.
For those with a buget these heads aren't your best friend.
Bob at All Pro will tell you that himself.
Beautiful design for those big turbo/NOS guys.
As cast I believe they are like 238cc's and can go well over 280cc from what I have heard.

Definetely not a budget set-up. Set up for a solid roller plan on spending 3k - 4k depending on how much you spend on port work.

No doubt there are cheaper alternatives. All of the solid roller stuff seems to be kinda of pricey though, at least that is what I have seen.

S/R is the past has been quite a bit more expensive, but is coming down little by little.
ET can do a S/R bad ass head for a nice price.
Wait wont be as long as some other porters either.

Since you are talking AllPro's here were the flow numbers from mine.
They have REV valves, 2.08 int, 1.60 exh. With a 4.00 bore.
Brian at ARE did them.
Lift Intake Exhaust/ no pipe
.200 160 125
.300 219 160
.350 242 171
.400 263 180
.450 283 190
.500 303 200
.550 321 209
.600 335 215
.630 347 221 (235 with pipe)
My motor is a 412ci LS2 NA. I wanted something unique, hence the cubes and the heads. It made 519rwhp thru a cut out. 511rwhp thru cats.
I originally used Magnum Pro Magnum rockers with a 1.75 ratio that gave a .630 lift, hence the .630 flow number. I now use stock rockers till I can get my J2K's installed.
So how do these compare. I know it is hard to judge pipe to no pipe.
He also did a set for a 427 and I think on the 4.125 bore it flowed 357+ above .600. I going by memory on that though. I know the extra .125 really opened it up.

I think Brian (Doc Otis) started this thread when there was only the Cathedral Port All Pro's. WCCH does a lot of the LSW stuff compeltely different head.
